Queensgate Timber Staircase
We were commissioned to design and manufacture this beautiful central entrance feature staircase which was to wind its way around the entrance lobby walls in a horse shoe shape up onto a large viewing gallery, but this project had a rather unusual twist……..the gallery balustrading had to be telescopic! To ensure the client had a choice of balustraded safety heights on his viewing gallery, depending on who was in the house, we had to make the balustrade on the landing move up and down.
The balustrade was a mixture of stainless steel and oak, an square section oak handrail sat on top, the staircase was a steel subframe with oak cladding and a carpet runner up the middle.
- Materials – Oak stair treads and risers, carpet runner, oak and stainless steel balustrade, oak handrail.
