Our Philosophy.

Meet Our Designer Makers

Our team of designer makers come from furniture and product backgrounds completing BA degrees at Nottingham, High Wycombe and Oxford & Cherwell Valley universities. They are hands on and creative, with a comprehensive knowledge of what is possible with structure and materials.

Before starting Zigzag Design Studio, Nick Burborough worked as the senior designer for a small design and making company in Nottingham, he later moved to London where he set up as a freelance designer and made an appearance on Grand Designs with Kevin McCloud. Now in his own design studio he brings his own twist of unique and creative design, specialising in stairs and balustrades.

Who we work with.

We work with a wide range of private clients and businesses - even going as far away as Africa! We are used to collaborating with architects, interior designers and builders on jobs that are commissioned by private clients. We are equally well versed in working directly with architects, developers or builders.

Our Workshop.

Our workshop is where most of the making happens - where we design, craft and forge your staircase and balustrade for assembly and installation later on in your property. Helped along by plenty of tea and coffee!
